Congratulations to both the 9U-DeMeyer and 12U-Caicedo teams for participating in the first annual Cal's Angel's Dance-A-Thon this past weekend. The 9U-DeMeyer team was the top fund raising team for the event. They raised $1090.00 as a team. Megan DeMeyer from the 9U team and Brooke Byas from the 12U team were both the second highest individual fund raisers for the event. Both girls raised $335.00 each. Congratulations to all who participated. It was a wonderful opportunity for the girls to give back to a great cause and to enjoy themselves and their teammates off the diamond. Great job Ladies!!
The St. Charles Comets Travel Softball Organization is now a division of Cal’s All-Star Angel Foundation
February 7th, 2013 – St. Charles, IL
The St. Charles Comets and Cal’s All-Star Angel Foundation jointly announced today that the Comets have become an affiliation of Cal’s Angels. The Comets fast pitch softball teams will complement Cal’s Angels continued growth in supporting youth softball and baseball. It brings 10 teams and over 100 families to join the fight against childhood cancer.
The Comets have long focused on developing young girls to play softball and has offered scholarships for those with the desire to play, but who do not have the means.
The St. Charles Comets were founded 21 years ago and have become an integral part of the sports communities in St. Charles and the surrounding area. They have excellent partnerships with the St. Charles Park District and the Kane County Dugout to provide “best in class” training and playing facilities.
Cal’s All-Star Angel Foundation, aka Cal’s Angels, was founded in April of 2007 in memory of Cal Sutter, a South Elgin Little League All-Star who lost his battle with leukemia at the age of 13 in 2006. Cal’s Angels grants the wishes of kids fighting cancer, financially assists their families, provides scholarships to South Elgin and St. Charles baseball players, financially supports local youth softball and baseball teams and is a Community Partner of the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
The combined organizations will continue to expand girls Fastpitch softball in the Fox Valley/Northern Illinois area and organize numerous events to spread awareness of the fight against childhood cancer. For more information contact Ashley Nakayama at email@example.com.For more information on the St. Charles Comets organization visit www.stccomets.com and www.calsangels.org for more information on Cal’s Angels.
The Comets are a highly competitive travel softball organization.
We focus on player development and winning at all ages and levels.
We understand that every child develops at a different pace and many of those high school starters were once "B" team players. We have the same commitment to training for all levels of our program. We give every player the opportunity to reach their best!
